What is Chinese Seasoning?
It's a flavourful blend of spices used in traditional cooking. The five components most found in Chinese seasoning is star anise (not to be confused with aniseed), cloves, cinnamon, pepper and fennel seeds.
Where does Chinese Seasoning Come From?
It is believed that traders from the Middle East brought spices such as cloves, cinnamon, and fennel seeds to China. These spices were then blended with locally grown spices such as star anise and Sichuan pepper.
